Beta edition. Section 01 applies today; sections 02–12 apply to invited testers from the day the account beta opens. It will be revised before any public release.
Your files stay on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded or moved. Section 01 is what this site and a request for a place involve today. Sections 02–12 describe the private beta, which will use a Tempol account and an internet connection; nothing in them is collected before invited testers accept the terms.
01Today: this site and requests for a place
Tempol is not available to testers yet, and no build can be downloaded. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other companies. Its pages run no script, apart from the homepage's animation, which sends nothing. Vercel hosts the site; its infrastructure logs may record the internet address of a request for a short period.
"Request beta access" opens your own mail app with a message to beta@tempol.app. We receive what you send — your email address, the name your mail app shows, and your message — and use it only to answer you and, if you are invited, to send your invitation. It does not create an account. Your message is kept in our mailbox, with our email provider. We keep a request until the beta places are settled, or until you ask us to delete it. Requests from people we do not invite are then deleted. Write to privacy@tempol.app to see or delete yours.
From the private beta · not yet in effectSections 02–12 apply to an invited tester once they accept the Beta Terms, when the account system and the signed build are ready. Nothing in them is collected today.
02What Tempol accesses locally
Tempol reads the folders and drives you choose: After Effects and Premiere Pro project files, template packs, music and sound files, and the preview media that comes with them. It reads them where they are. It never moves, renames or deletes a file, and it never uploads one.
03What stays on your computer
- The index — what Tempol found: names, sizes, dates, what each project file contains, tags and descriptions. Kept in
~/Library/Application Support/Tempol. - Previews — frames rendered from templates and short looping clips, in the same folder.
- Sound descriptions — genre, mood, instruments and vocals, worked out on your Mac. The analysis runs on-device; the audio itself goes nowhere.
- Your settings, favourites, tags and corrections.
- Collected assets — when you import into After Effects, copies of a template's footage or a sound are placed beside that project, in a folder named Tempol Assets, and nowhere else.
Deleting the Tempol folder removes everything Tempol kept. Your files are unchanged by it.
04Your account and your access
To use the beta you need a Tempol account. You sign in through your web browser, with our sign-in provider; the app never asks for your password. After you sign in, the app keeps one sign-in credential in your Mac's keychain.
While Tempol is in use, it confirms your access with our server at least every 20 minutes. Each check sends your sign-in credential, an identifier for your Mac (a one-way hash of its hardware identifier — not the serial number), the Tempol version and build, and, the first time, the Mac's name as you set it. The answer is kept in memory only.
Tempol needs an internet connection while you use it. If it cannot confirm your access — no connection, an outage on our side, or your access has ended — it locks within the hour and shows only the sign-in screen, and the panel imports nothing. Your files, the index, previews and settings on your Mac are not touched, and everything is there again once your access is confirmed.
05What we keep about you
- Your account's email address.
- For each Mac you use, at most two: its hashed identifier, the name you can change, and when its access was last confirmed, to the hour.
- Which edition of the Beta Terms and this Privacy Policy you accepted, and when.
- A short security log — a new sign-in on a Mac, a Mac added or removed, unusual requests — with your internet address shortened.
We keep no record of each check. We keep this to run the beta, to show that you accepted the terms, and to keep an account to its two Macs; it is not used for anything else.
06Earlier beta keys (recovery only)
Beta keys from the earlier beta exist only as a recovery path, and stop working 30 days after the account beta opens. If one is used, Tempol sends one activation request: the key, the hashed identifier of your Mac, the Mac's name, the Tempol version and the edition of these terms you accepted. That record is kept until the recovery path ends.
07Diagnostics: not currently collected
This build does not collect or send diagnostics, crash reports, analytics or usage data of any kind, on or off. There is no diagnostics toggle in the app yet. If that changes in a later beta build, it will be opt-in, described here first, and this policy will say exactly what it sends before you are asked to turn it on.
Settings has a "Send feedback" button, which does nothing on its own: pressing it opens your own mail app with a message addressed to us and the Tempol version, your macOS version, whether an After Effects install was found already typed into it, for you to edit, add to or delete before you send it, or not send at all. "Copy details" puts the same text on your clipboard, with the last lines of the app's own local error log added underneath, read fresh each time you press it and never on its own; that log lives at ~/Library/Logs/Tempol-server.log and stays on your Mac unless you paste it somewhere yourself. Nothing here is sent unless you press Send in your own mail app.
08What we do not collect
Filenames, folder names, absolute paths, your macOS username, client or project names, media files, thumbnails or preview frames, the contents of After Effects or Premiere Pro projects, the text of your searches, file contents, hardware serial numbers, crash reports, or your devices' hardware (MAC) addresses. Your internet address is kept only in shortened form, in the security log above. If you write to us or attach a screenshot, that is yours to choose.
09How long we keep it
Your account and its Mac records are kept while you take part in the beta. A Mac's record is deleted when you remove that Mac. The security log is kept for 90 days. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete it within 30 days; our providers' backups may keep a copy for up to 7 days more.
10Service providers
Supabase runs sign-in and stores your account and Mac records, in Frankfurt. Vercel hosts this site and our server functions; its infrastructure logs may record the internet address of a request for a short period. Resend sends the emails we send you. Upstash holds short-lived counters that limit abuse, and the records of earlier beta keys. Each processes data on our behalf only and holds nothing else about you. Some of this processing happens in the United States.
11Your controls
- Delete the Tempol folder to remove everything it kept on your Mac.
- Write to us to remove a Mac from your account, or to delete your account and its records.
